Recycling Aluminum Cans

If you recycle aluminum cans and have a scrap metal business near you, I recommend taking them there. I took 6 kitchen size trash bags to my local scrap metal business and got $23! One of the bags was not completely full, so I believe I could have earned another $1 if it were full. This equals $4 per trash bag. We have a can crusher with a Rubbermaid tub underneath to catch the crushed cans. When the tub gets full we put them into a kitchen size trash bag and store in the corner of the garage. Yes, it is not pretty, but for .50 per pound, it's worth it! I believe if your landfill pays for aluminum cans it may only be about half that, at least that's what mine pays.
